What you are to be, you are now becoming
~ Carl Rogers (1902-1987)
Counselling can help you make sense of the way you are feeling. I can help with this process. I will work with you in an empathic, non-judgemental way, at your pace. Building a connection with you would be my first priority, as a trusting, secure relationship can be key to change and effective counselling.
I have experience of working with clients affected by:sadness, low confidence or self-esteem, loss/bereavement, social anxiety, domestic abuse, poor attachments, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, affairs, divorce, workplace stress, redundancy, illness, the Menopause.
Feeling sadness or low in mood can cause us to no longer feel enjoyment and feel unable to take an interest in the people or the activities that used to bring us fulfillment.
Lacking in confidence or having low self esteem or social anxiety can make friendships, intimate relationships and being around work colleagues very difficult. Low self esteem often makes people feel as though they are never good enough, unable to accept or believe praise or compliments, and only able to focus on what they see as their weaknesses or flaws.
Through exploration with an empathic, Attachment trained Counsellor, it may be possible to have a deeper understanding of who we are, and how and why we relate to others the way we do. Our early life experiences and relationships are key to how we see ourselves and others.
As an experienced, empathic counsellor I will offer a safe space where you can share, describe, explore and reflect on the difficulties in your life. Our sessions will be centred on you and I working together to find a way forward. This can look different for each individual.
Counselling can offer you the space to find the words for, express and connect with, maybe for the first time freely, your feelings and emotions without shame or criticism. Talking things through with me, may help you make sense of any difficulties in your life, and their meaning for you.
My clients tell me how beneficial it is to be able to talk to someone completely independent, who truly listens to them without judgement. Being able to share our inner world can feel like a release, helping to calm the noise and chaos in our mind. Sharing can help to un-jumble our thoughts and feelings.
Let me listen to you and be here for you.
