Why Counselling Therapy Cheltenham?

We are programmed from birth to form connections with our caregivers, as a a matter of survival. Our earliest relationships form a sort of a template for how we view others and how what we expect from others throughout life. Sometimes our initial attachments leave us feeling unsafe or insecure.

Building a connection with you is my first priority, as a trusting, secure relationship can be key to change and effective counselling. I will work with you in an empathic, non-judgemental way, at your pace.

I can help you make sense of the way you are feeling. I will work with you to look at how things feel for you currently, and at past life experiences and relationships which may still be impacting your life. I can help you to notice and understand patterns and behaviours in your relationships.

Having a better understanding of yourself and recognising your own strengths and resources will enable you to make decisions and choices for yourself based on your needs.

Through exploration with an empathic, Attachment trained Counsellor, it may be possible to have a deeper understanding of who we are, and how and why we relate to others the way we do. Our early life experiences and relationships are key to how we see ourselves and others.

Speak in confidence

As an experienced, empathic Person Centred Counsellor I will offer a safe space where you can share, describe, explore and reflect on the difficulties in your life. Our sessions will be centred on you and I working together to find a way forward. This can look different for each individual.

Share your problems

Person Centred Counselling can offer you the space to find the words for, express and connect with, maybe for the first time freely, your feelings and emotions without shame or criticism. Talking things through with me, may help you make sense of any difficulties in your life, and their meaning for you.

Feel heard

My clients tell me how beneficial it is to be able to talk to someone completely independent, who truly listens to them without judgement. Being able to share our inner world can feel like a release, helping to calm the noise and chaos in our mind. Sharing can help to un-jumble our thoughts and feelings.

Let me listen to you and be here for you.
